School Closed Monday and Tuesday

Kia ora koutou,

Over the past 24 hours we have assessed the Met Service information about Tropical Cyclone Gabrielle and considered its effect on  Auckland and surrounding areas. Following consultation this afternoon with the Ministry of Education, Civil Defence and Emergency Management and our Board Chair the decision has been made to close the school for two days – Monday 13 and Tuesday 14 February, in order to protect the health and safety of our students, community and staff.

We will review the situation at 3pm tomorrow and provide you with any necessary updates.

We do understand that this may cause some inconvenience for whānau, and we apologise for this.  However, these are extenuating circumstances and we must make health and safety our priority.

Regarding distance learning, as we are still very early on in the year, capability for this has not yet been fully established and some students do not yet have logins or devices. We are also mindful that there may be power outages and teachers may have difficulty getting online.  Staff may also have situations that they are dealing with in regards to their own whare and whānau, and we really appreciate your flexibility and understanding with this.

Our priority is health, safety and wellbeing for all. Please keep in touch with us if there is any support that you may need. Further information can be found below
